Rear differential heat issues

I checked my rearafter I drove it around town and left it running, and these were the temp readings.

The 116 is on the pumpkin and the other two are (89 and 91) on the axel.

A better more accurate reading would be the pinion/yoke area on the diff As that’s probably the hottest spot (smallest bearing). And 116 isn’t bad at all. My big rig gets up to 150-180 depending on how hot it is as well as speed and weight I’m running.

I put in full synthetic diff oil , cooled pumpkin down, but end caps are still hot to touch! Guessing I'm going to have to either change out Spartan lockers for Ox locker or install full floating axel. Drove approximately 10 miles on a pave road, here in WV.

I have the Spartan as well and I'm not running hot.

There’s no diff fluid there. The Roxors only have fluid in the pumpkins. That Bearing is greasable by way of a zerk on the axle tube you can access from the rear and it’s tucked up close to the brake backing plate.

Yes, I know and it was just replaced and repacked. Is your bearing producing heat? I'm using the Lucas red and tacky grease on them. This is where my heat is originating from as far as I can tell.
