Those of you who have replaced the stock shocks. Have you cut one open to see if these things are hollow? I'm almost convinced the red body shocks are just for looks.

Hahaha, eill do. I have had my grinder attack me before

I ended up in the hospital the day after Christmas 2016 due to a grinder attack.

Apparently, it's a good shock, in theroy(still full of fluid. Gonna check the other one.

Very light valving I guess. Like a steering damper rather than a performing shock absorber

My Father always said you can be strong or Smart, successful if both, I guess at 6'1 261 lbs, we know which I am. Lol

These are the shocks of yesterday. They are fluid filled and only react when pulled or pushed. Strictly to dampen shocks. Not like the charged shocks of today that are designed to help keep tire contact with ground as well as dampen. Oil filled shocks were standard until the 70s.

One good thing about the old style, they would last for years. As long as there wasn’t a leak and the valve (orifice hole) stayed clear it would work. Probably why they use them in India. Cheap, reliable, and acceptable performance. Gas charged shocks develope o ring leaks because of the pressure on them. Then they go flat. But have far better performance and much quicker response.
