Can anyone tell me what tool to buy to remove the automatic transmission fill plug? It's two sided, (flat) Will a socket made for a four sided plug work?
Thank You for your input.

Have you tried a crescent wrench or metric open-end wrench?
Yes. I tried a crescent wrench. The only room for it is to attach it to the plug and run it out horizontally toward the back. No way to apply the wrench toward the top or bottom. By running it out the back, I inserted a screwdriver into the crescent wrench handle hole to use as a "T" handle to turn the wrench with no success.

Whenever you get it off Rebel57, make sure you replace it with a plug that is more common. You can get oval sockets, but I have not seen one that size on the shelves.

Thanks USMC, Good advice that I hadn't thought about.

AZROX is correct. I didn't even think of a crow's foot, and I have them in my toolbox.

I'm back. I tried the crows foot with no luck. That plug is in their tight. I'll be in town on Friday and will try and get an oval socket. Additionally, I'll try and pick up a 22MM crows foot in 1/2" and/or 1" drive.

Rebel57. let us know how it goes. I had to beat the shift plug cap out with a hammer and a punch and the plug looked like a used 9 mm round when I was done.

OK. I'm back. The plug I identified as the automatic transmission fill plug on the left side of the case was not the fill plug. The fill plug is located on the right side of the case. My fluid is fine.
My transmission is acting up, in that, I put it in gear and start to move and then nothing, like it's in neutral. I only have 1900 miles on my 2019.
