The Roxor supposedly has a 3400 pound tow capacity. I have a little teardrop trailer weighing 1500 pounds. Can I (should I) tow it? It has electric brakes. Is there a wiring harness available that will allow me to install a Prodigy brake controller? I would like the trailer brake lights to work as well as the electric brakes if I am going to try towing the trailer with the Roxor.

I'm curious about towing with a Roxor as well. I'd like to be able to tow a small trailer on the local roads (under 60mph) but not sure if I should...

Look under "Towing and Warranty " in general discussions

I have been pulling a 9ft trailer built for my dakota pickup. It pulls it just fine. As I want to do some overlanding with the Roxor I am building a trailer just for it. will be 7ft long and same width as the Roxor 59inches. I have it framed up now and will have it done soon. It will be covered as I expect to be able to sleep in it. Will be covered with fold downs from each side to sleep in. Being able to put a cooler in, tools, chainsaw and needed back country supplies and being able to fold down a platform over them to sleep in out of the weather should be a plus. Will have a bit longer tongue as it helps in backing and also tight corners. would enjoy doing some overlanding this summer.
Anyone interested in getting out, send me a pm. figure to get out in July as the high country should be free of snow.

First would be the tow point. I have the Cecco Farm Bumper which is probably the very best way to go.
The factory Hitch should also work reasonably well. If you do not get really rough with it.
I believe that ONE of the Turn Signal Kits has a Trailer Wiring option. I do not remember which one at this time. I ended up buying the Truck Lite Turn Signal Switch and wired mine from scratch.
It looks like you could tie in to the wiring and get LED Lights on the trailer to work. The big issue is the Toy Size Wiring that Mahindra uses to wire things on the Roxor. I would have been a lot more impressed with 16 gauge wiring throughout.
Hopefully some one has experience with wiring up a Brake Controller on the Roxor.
I have been pulling a 1/4 Ton Military Jeep Trailer with no issues at all. I have not worried about wiring up lights on it so far.
If you are going to get into any where really rough a Pintle Hitch might be a better option than a Ball.

EDIT: Check out Diesel Freak for XTC Turn Signals. They are the source for the kit that has a Trailer Connector option. You might call Diesel Freak and ask about the Brake Controller. If any one knows, they would.

Something to consider when pulling a trailer is to have not only breakaway chains, but in difficult terrain to have chains on either side that keeps the trailer from jacknifing on steep downhill where it could push the roxor sideways. Just something easily taken off and used as needed.

If you have shackle mounts on the bumpers like cecco rear bumper has you can use them for the chains. Cross them to catch the tongue in a disconnect scenario. For holding the trailer straight like your talking about you could probably keep the same chains but twist them to shorten it down then attach them on the same way. By shortening them up it would hold the trailer relatively straight and once done with the obstacle just untwist the chains and reattach.

If you are still hooking them to the middle you have no purchase on the trailer no matter how short the chains are on the centerline. Need to come from farther back on the tongue and wider on the back of the pulling vehicle.
