Dust cap

Could some one tell me how to get the front hub off, it may be called a dust cap. It is the hub with 6 bolts holding it.

I took the 6 bolts out but it will not come off

It's pretty on pretty tight. I beat mine off with a mallet. If you want to save it, you'll have to use a big pair of pliers.

The soft metal dust cap in the center needs to come off first before you can pull the flange. There is an O-ring that makes a snug fit against the dust cap that you're fighting against.

I was able to get mine off using a pry bar and a mallet by working the pry bar under the lip of the dust cap and then tapping on the end of the pry bar with the mallet to pry it off. The edge gets beat up a little, but looks aren't essential for the function of the cap.
